Today is a beautiful day and you are a wonderful person. These are words people should hear the voice in their head tell them at least 100 times a day. The truth is everyone is beautiful and life is wonderful. What keeps people from understanding these two things is often the ego. The ego, if not channeled properly, can ruin a beautiful day and create a miserable life.
Can you feel the blood pulsing through your veins? Does the sunshine warm your inner being? Do you wake up feeling good only to have the voice in your head remind you of something that doesn’t matter? In a perfect world everyone would answer yes to the first two questions and no to the third. In 2019 some people may answer yes to one or both of the first two questions but the majority answer yes to the third.
The voice in our heads can help us live a great life or send us screaming into opiate abuse. The voice in our heads or ego is what affects our perception of the world around us. If we allow our ego to run unchecked we never have a chance to understand that we are beautiful people. The ego will have you worrying about problems that never manifest and fighting imaginary battles. With all of this ego chaos running amok in your head, how can you see any form of beauty?
Have you ever taken the time to just listen to the thoughts or the voice in your head? Just sit back and close your eyes one day and listen to what it is saying. If you are feeling peaceful the ego will remind or create problems that either you can’t do anything about or don’t exist. Try this: sit down for 10 minutes with your eyes closed and just listen to your thoughts. If you think television is entertaining, listen to the plots the ego comes up with.
The world is a beautiful place. There are more calm serene areas in the world than there are masses of confusion. A normal person has more people they can tolerate than those they can’t stand in their life. Yet many people focus on the confusion and people they dislike and this makes for an angry day and frustrated life. Of course this view is colored severely by the ego. If a person doesn’t understand how the ego is playing with them like a cat with a mouse, they will find themselves constantly preparing for battles that never manifest. The ego is a main contributor to hypertension. The ego will have your blood pressure skyrocketing over imaginary battles because of petty slights that no one else remembers.
As the world turns there are several ego-based confusing events taking place. What matters to individuals, is what is taking place in their own head. The energy expended worrying about issues that can’t be changed or hating people that aren’t thinking about you should be used for personal growth. Let go of the confusion that the ego drops in your lap constantly. Do not be afraid to answer ego questions like Stuart Wilde suggested, “I don’t know. I don’t care.” If you start doing this you will gradually release mental issues and life will become fun and beautiful again. Trust me on this.
One thing to ponder in closing. Are you the voice talking in your head? Or are you the being listening to the voice?
