Where do we go?

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with Malcolm X

The year 2020 marks the beginning of a new decade. African Americans are still in the crosshairs on all levels of existence. The lack of quality leadership has literally created a lost tribe of people. The US government has its own issues and doesn’t have the time for African American problems. This lost tribe of people now has to attempt to do something for themselves without Massa. The question is, “Do African Americans have the intelligence to do anything that can truly uplift the race?”

African Americans are so lost that they adopt issues that have nothing to do with them. You hear the professional African American wondering about the issue in the White House. When has any President ever truly had African American interests in mind? Have things ever been peachy keen for African Americans in the USA under any president? Even under the mixed President, Barack Obama, African Americans caught hell. So why waste time wondering what Donald Trump is doing in DC when you are getting raped in all facets of life by the power structure of the city you reside in?

There hasn’t been a black leader in the African American community since Malcolm X was shot. I know people will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr., but even he had doubts about his philosophy at the end. With the lack of leadership in the community African Americans have fallen for the trick bag of adopting the people white society has propped up. This is a dangerous act because the African Americans who whites prop up are usually tools to keep the power structure intact. African Americans look to actors, sports figures and entertainers as leaders to follow. No other race does this. Whites do not prop up sports figures as leaders. Only African Americans do this fruitless task and hence they are at the bottom of society while wearing $250 gym shoes.

Education was supposed to be the salvation of the African American. There are more so-called educated African Americans than ever before. How many African American industrial complexes have you seen? I’m not talking about a club or wing restaurant but a true industrial complex manufacturing something that is key to society. How can African Americans with so much schooling not even own the gas stations or liquor stores that dominate their community? Curtis Mayfield once sang, “Educated fools from uneducated schools…” I think that line sums up the fallacy of education doing anything for African Americans, but brain washing them to be the butt of every joke. If education was going to uplift the African American why would white people put schools in every ghetto and make children go? Exactly.

In 2020 it’s time for African Americans to cut everything loose. It’s time for African Americans to drop that American last name and understand that they are Black. African Americans have to stop allowing a society that does not like them to define who and what they are. It is time for African Americans to understand that there is no magic way that is going to make white people love them. African Americans have to understand that this society was set up with an anti-black mindset and if they adopt this society they will hate themselves. David Kincaid once said, “It’s time for African Americans to get up off their knees and take them wigs off their heads.” I couldn’t have said it better.
