On Thursday, November 9, 2023, Milwaukee City Hall hosted the first ever – Tanzania Day at the City Hall Rotunda. The Tanzania Day celebrates the anniversary of the City of Milwaukee and Tarime District, Tanzania Sister Cities program that was established on November 7, 2016. The event started with Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson officially proclaiming that Thursday, November 9, is as Tanzania Day. This was a family friendly free event open to the public. The organizer for this event was Dr. Christine Mosore, Founder/President/CEO of Mosorec International Foundation Inc., who hosted and presented Tanzania Day. “For me, the highlight of the event was seeing the many guests especially the students from the greater Milwaukee area there participating and having a good time,” said Dr. Mosore. Tanzania Day included food, fun, education, culture, music, a fashion show, and entertainment. Students from different schools in the Greater Milwaukee area were invited and were in attendance and participated in the program as well as touring Milwaukee City Hall.
