Take Root Milwaukee, a city-wide consortium that promotes sustainable homeownership, marked its fifth anniversary on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 with a celebration in the rotunda of City Hall, located at 200 E. Wells St. The anniversary event featured remarks from Mayor Tom Barrett, Common Council President Michael Murphy, Wyman Winston of WHEDA, Stacy Walker of Freddie Mac and other local community partners. The event highlighted the impact of Take Root Milwaukee’s collaborative work these past five years and included the premiere of a five-minute video retrospective. The anniversary celebration is sponsored by the Wisconsin Housing & Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), U.S. Bank and the City of Milwaukee.
