Greater Milwaukee Urban League hosts ‘Stroll to the Polls 2024’

On Saturday, October 26, 2024 the Greater Milwaukee Urban League, Urban League Guild, Young Professionals, and members of the Divine Nine Fraternities and Sororities came together to host ‘Stroll To The Polls.’ This Get Out The Vote (GOTV) initiative was in collaboration with Greater Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where Rev. Kenneth Cutler is pastor.

The ‘Stroll to the Polls’ event was part of a nationwide effort during the National Urban League “Reclaim Your Vote” weekend of action.

Participants, including church members and local residents, walked from the church to Washington Park Library to cast their early votes.

Stroll to the Polls attendees were provided with free ‘I Will Vote’ yard signs, voter registration assistance, polling location information, and details about free rides to the polls through Souls to the Polls.

The “Reclaim Your Vote” campaign also offered volunteer opportunities for canvassing, phone and text banking, and information on free Lyft rides to polling places on Election Day.
