On Saturday November 2, 2024, the Greater Milwaukee Urban League (GMUL) held its “39th Annual Black and White Ball” at the newly redesigned Baird Center located at 405 W. Kilbourn Ave. As part of the organization theme, “Celebrating 105: Legacy and Impact,” current GMUL President, CEO and host Dr. Eve M. Hall gave honors to the past presidents, Kenneth F. Little (1994-2002) and Ralph E. Hollmon (2002-2017). The evening included a red carpet entrance with photos, silent auction, wine grab, photo ops, and an elegant dinner program. The entertainment for the evening was Grammy-nominated recording artist Chante Moore, known for such R&B hits as “Love’s Taken Over” and “It’s Alright“.
The annual Black and White Ball is GMUL’s biggest fundraiser of the year. This year they managed to raise more than $800,000 through generous donations from both individuals and corporations. The donations raised at the ball will go to help fund the many outreach programs that GMUL participate in, such as its education and advocacy programs.
