MATC students move into Westown Green Apartments in preparation for fall semester

On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, nearly 200 Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) students overfilled and pushed the traditional blue carts as they moved into Westown Green, the preferred housing partner of MATC. The affordable student housing apartments are just south of MATC’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus and adjacent to the Deer District.
This is the third year that students will move into the apartments for MATC’s fall semester, which begins the week of August 20. The innovative apartments aim to combat housing insecurity for MATC students with 83 units including studio, two and four-bedroom apartments. MATC staff helped students cart their bean bags, moon lamps and flat screens into the amenity-rich, state-of-the-art student apartment building.
To help move in day-along there was a Slow Mo’ BBQ lunch served as well as food trucks and music in a festive outdoor environment to help mark the moving in of old and new students.
