Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) offers free tuition for new high school graduates who qualify. The MATC Promise program application window is open! Students and families should learn more now so all required items can be submitted by February 1, 2019.
MATC Promise will pay the tuition and program course fees for up to 75 credits, after federal and state financial grant aid has been applied. The cost of books is not covered by the Promise program.
Learn more about eligibility and apply on the MATC Promise web page. Mark your calendars for February 1, 2019, and be sure to complete required items by the deadlines.
To qualify for MATC Promise, students must be eligible for a federal Pell Grant, which is determined by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The financial aid and Pell Grant application process for all students begins with the free FAFSA application, found on the Federal Student Aid web page. Be cautious of similar sites that charge a fee.
Important deadlines:
• Apply for MATC admission by February 1, 2019.
• Complete the Promise interest application by February 1, 2019.
• Complete a federal student aid application (FAFSA) by February 1, 2019.
The MPS College and Career Centers will be hosting MATC Promise and FAFSA workshops in January. Visit the CACC website to learn more.
