‘It’s a Love Thing’ celebrates the wonderful and diverse 40+ crowd

Milwaukee’s “It’s A Love Thing” spring event was held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Wisconsin African American Women’s Center, 3020 W. Vliet St. The sold-out event included dancing to R&B, House, Latin, and Old School music by DJ Kelc (Kellie Carson), delicious Latin cuisine prepared by Chef Michael Redic and Chef Elizabeth Rodriguez, vendors including Butterscotch Baby Total Body Experience, Jewelry by Darlin’ Nikki Janzen, Brewery Credit Union (sponsor) and the 16th Street Community Health Center’s HIV & STI Care Program.
A very special recognition went to Mary Thoreson and Wendy Pologe (bottom photo), a couple who celebrated their 45th anniversary and are pictured being cheered on by Larry Ponders, Vincent Blakemore, and Carmen A. Murguia, the event producer.
