2022 victims of violence honored in annual candlelight vigil

January 5, 2023

On Thursday, December 29, 2022, MICAH, Pastors United, Northcott Neighborhood House and Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church closed out 2022 with their annual “Forever In Our Hearts Homicide Candlelight Vigil,” at Ephesians M.B.C., 2412 N. 6th St. The event honored the more than 200 homicide victims in Milwaukee this past year. Community and religious leaders held lit candles and took turns reading the names of victims before a crowd that consisted of members of the victims’ families.

Pictured at the event are Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman; Northcott Neighborhood House Operations and Juneteenth Director Elizabeth Coggs, Northcott Neighborhood House Executive Director Tony A. Kearney, Sr.; Ephesians M.B.C. Pastor Raymond C. Monk; and Pastors United President Greg Lewis.
