Voice of the Fatherless Child brings holiday joy to families in need

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, organizers and volunteers for Voice of the Fatherless Child (VOFC) loaded up a truck in front of the Home Depot on 4155 N. Port Washington Rd. to bring Christmas to seven deserving families for their 16th annual “Single Parent Christmas Giveaway.” The annual event helps brings Christmas to much deserving families who happen to need a little help this time of year. Single Parent Christmas is the idea of VOFC founder Monte Mabra, who as a child always dreamed of a Christmas with a real tree, the lights and gifts underneath it. Now he’s giving that experience to other families as a holiday surprise. The giveaway supplied the chosen families with a live tree, lights, tree topper, decorations, gifts and more. This year’s event was sponsored by the Home Depot, Hupy & Abraham, S.C., and Synergy HomeCare.
