
Sunday, December 15, 2019 marked the 12th annual “Voice of the Fatherless Child’s Single Parent Christmas.”One of the ten single parent Christmas packages was awarded to Destiny Foster (front row, left), the mother of two daughters who lost their lives to a hit and run driver on 22nd and Center Streets about two months ago.
Voice of the Fatherless Child’s Founder Monte Mabra (front row, center) along with Hupy and Abraham S.C. President Michael F. Hupy (back, left) and Home Depot Port Washington Ave. volunteer A.J. (back, right) helped deliver gifts and a tree with decorations to the Fosters’ home. Since the incident this past fall, Destiny has been sharing her home with her son Laminate “Monte” Kazee, 3 (not pictured) and her 1 year-old niece Desire Brown (front row, right). Destiny said, “It’s great to know that there are still people and programs like “Voice of the Fatherless Child.” Monte said he wanted Destiny to know that she and her daughters are not forgotten. This year’s “Single Parent Christmas” sponsors are Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Home Depot, Steinhafels Furniture, Hupy & Abraham S.C. and Church Women United.
