On Saturday, July 14, 2018, the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) hosted their annual Walk/Run for Education at Veterans Park on the lakefront. The family friendly 5K (3.1 mile) walk and certified run is a major fundraising event for the the Milwaukee Chapter of UNCF. The funds from this run go to support UNCF scholarship and student support program for more than 900 students, as well as support to 37 historically black colleges.
