On Thursday, April 13, 2023, Cora F. Quartman celebrated her 100th birthday milestone at home with family and friends. Born on April 3, 1923 in St. Joseph, Missouri, Cora moved to Milwaukee in 1927. She went to Ninth Street School, Roosevelt, and then later North Division High School. Soon after high school, Cora got married, not once, but twice. She has one foster son, Michael Jackson; two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Cora was asked what advice she would give to the young people today; she replied, “Young people need to respect themselves first, then respect others. I believe in faith and religion. My trust in the Lord has brought me this far.”
