On Wednesday, September 23, 2020, Vernon Townsend, one of Milwaukee’s few remaining World War II veterans, celebrated his 100th birthday. Five generations of his family and friends gathered to wish him well for his 100 birthday with a surprise drive-by parade (due to social distancing).
