Common Council President calls for special election

Milwaukee Common Council President Ashanti Hamilton called for a November 6, 2018 special election to fill the 5th Aldermanic District seat left vacant by the resignation on May 24, 2018 of Jim Bohl. Bohl, who was elected to his fifth four-year term in 2016, is reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to be under consideration for a lobbying-related job for the city as part of a personnel change within the Administration of Mayor Tom Barrett.
