On Saturday, May 3, 2025, the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Upsilon Mu Omega Chapter, in partnership with the Diamond Jubilee Pearls Foundation, hosted their “7th Annual AKA Day at the Derby” in celebration of the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby. The signature event brought together community members for an afternoon filled with elegance, entertainment, and philanthropy.

This year’s event featured a variety of memorable experiences, including a lively silent auction, gourmet food, engaging entertainment, and a live stream of the Kentucky Derby, from Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. For the first time, guests also had access to an exclusive VIP experience, which included wine and bourbon tastings, upscale bites, express entry, and curated swag bags.

The Diamond Jubilee Pearls Foundation, established in 2003, is dedicated to empowering youth in the Milwaukee area through education. Proceeds from AKA Day at the Derby support the foundation’s scholarship efforts. To date, the organization has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to high school and college students, and they’re just getting started.
