On Thursday and Friday, August 22, August 23, 2024, the MKE Fellows hosted the “24th Annual Fellowship Open,” an annual golf tournament, celebration and community gathering of friends and supporters who remain dedicated to serving young people in Milwaukee. For 24 years, the Fellowship Open tradition of acknowledging exceptional achievement and recognizing outstanding leadership toward diversity, inclusion, and youth empowerment has defined the core values and mission of the Fellowship Open.

The event weekend began on Thursday, August 22, 2024 with an opening reception and dinner at the Institute for the Preservation of African American Music and Art (IPAMA), 3200 W. Hampton Ave. The event welcomed more than 200 guests and friends traveling from across the nation at the kick-off for the Fellowship Open weekend by acknowledging its 2024 National Corporate Leadership Honoree, Thrivent Insurance Board Chair Cornell Boggs. The following day on Friday the golf tournament was held at the Kettle Hills Golf Course – Richfield, WI., with more than 300 golfers taking part in the tournament. The event weekend wrapped up later that day with the Miltown Legends Special Awards Luncheon. During the luncheon two individuals who have a long history of working with youth, who has impeccable character and symbolizes the faces of the Fellowship Open were honored. This year’s honorees were former Milwaukee Bucks player Vin Baker and former Milwaukee Brewers player Rickie Darnell Weeks, Jr.
