The Sixteenth Annual Fellowship Open Event

August 26, 2016

sixteenth art

On Friday, August 19, 2016 the Sixteenth Annual Fellowship Open took place at the Silver Spring Country Club, N56W21318 Silver Spring Dr., in Menomonee Falls. The annual golf outing over the years has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to champion education and open pathway to successful careers for Milwaukee’s youth. Prior to the golf tournament an awards celebration took place honoring local civic and business leaders in the community who exemplify a commitment to excellence, philanthropy, and service. This year’s honorees were NBA legend Oscar “The Big O” Robertson, who received the Legends Award; UWM Vice Chancellor of Global Inclusion and Engagement Dr. Joan Prince, who received the Community Leader Award; and BMO Harris Bank vice president and senior advisor Patty Cadorin, who received the Civic Leader award. Also pictured at the event are Fellowship Open chairman and Quarles & Brady Chairman Emeritus John W. Daniels (left photo, center); NBA legend Wayne Embry, the league’s first African American general manager who led the Milwaukee Bucks from 1972–79 (left photo, right); and local Milwaukee artist and former Black Excellence honoree Ras’ Ammar Nsoroma (left photo, center) who painted portraits of this year’s honorees.
