Be ready for school—check your child’s vaccines

July 20, 2023

Vaccines help prevent against childhood illnesses such as measles, mumps, chicken pox, polio, and more. Summer is the perfect time to make sure children are up to date on vaccines.

MPS early start schools begin class on Monday, August 14. MPS schools on the traditional calendar begin Tuesday, September 5. Make sure your child goes back to school protected from childhood illnesses and COVID-19.

Answers to many questions about vaccines can be found on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website, including Myths and Facts about COVID-19 Vaccines.

Immunizations for childhood diseases are available to city of Milwaukee residents who qualify. Visit the Milwaukee Health Department Immunization Clinic Services page for hours, locations, and eligibility.
