Vaccines help prevent against childhood illnesses such as measles, mumps, chicken pox, polio, and more. Summer is the perfect time to make sure children are up to date on vaccines.
MPS early start schools begin class on Monday, August 14. MPS schools on the traditional calendar begin Tuesday, September 5. Make sure your child goes back to school protected from childhood illnesses and COVID-19.

Immunizations for childhood diseases are available to city of Milwaukee residents who qualify. Visit the Milwaukee Health Department Immunization Clinic Services page for hours, locations, and eligibility.
Immunizations Required for Students
For children who are not immunized due to health or religious reasons, please speak with your child’s school nurse or school staff.
Pre-Kindergarten (2–4 years)
• 4 doses of Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis
• 3 doses of Polio
• 3 doses of Hepatitis B
• 1 dose of Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
• 1 dose of Varicella (Chickenpox)
Kindergarten – Grade 6
