Just in time

August 29, 2024

Web Photo

The month of September is here. The race for a seat in the White House has become intense and is creating a divide in the USA. Just as things in the USA are about to come to a boiling point, football season is here to create a much-needed diversion. Just like Superman flying in to save the day, football is here to save the minds of US citizens.

The illogical statements made by presidential candidates and ill-informed comments made by potential voters can now be ignored. It is the end of August and everyone who has a TV knows that means football season is here. Football season has come just in time to give the American psyche a much-needed time out. Football will give the voters a venue to use to step back from the political abyss that is looming. The reprieve football will give the US population is one that is needed to assist in keeping the country from imploding.

Football is truly heroic in its ability to divert the consciousness of the US public. The diversion and salvation began when the college football season kicked off back on August 24. College football is an appetizer for the main course of the football diet. The NFL will begin its regular season on September 5, 2024. The NFL will be the beacon that will light the minds of a great number of US citizens for the next six months.

The diversion that football creates is one that is needed in a time when politics are, at best, mediocre. Football will be a breath of fresh air as the political landscape restructures. There is a change coming to the US political scene no matter which candidate wins in November. The game of football will be needed to assist the US population in adjusting to the new political climate that is going to encompass the country.

Football will enable people to hold onto something that is familiar to them. The average US citizen gets political news from sources that have a high chance of being corrupted. The news that citizens get pertaining to football can be debated but in the end the game score is the final word. The reporting of football scores can’t be tampered with because the final score is just that. A spin can be put on game results by announcer and commentators, but the final score is final. The same cannot be said about political information that is delivered via any form of media.

Football will unite many communities via the common ground of wanting teams to win. Packer fans are just that, Packer fans. There are not two parties that can cause divide between Packer fans. You cheer the Packers and join in with others who do the same. There is not a green party and a gold party to create a divisive atmosphere in Packer Land. Anyone who is in the USA knows the two major political parties in the USA and the history of division they represent. Football fans who cheer their teams are free from these types of shenanigans.

Football season is here in the USA. The various football teams are optimistic about their chances of winning a championship. The college football fan is already enjoying game day parties to ease their minds of the pressure of the upcoming presidential election. The NFL fans are planning to do likewise in the future. While politics may drain the American psyche, football will ease the tension and motivate the US populace. Walter Camp is looking down smiling at the game he created and its impact on the mental health of the USA.
