Speaking of sweets, Burnhearts gears up for its annual Mitten Fest in February with a barrel-filling event beginning at 6 tonight. Bring a nonperishable food item for a chance to win raffle prizes and the opportunity to add some ingredients to the Brandyland barrel. The bar will also be tapping some special brews from Central Waters and Founders.
Dock18 Cocktail Lab is pairing cheese with beer and cocktails, plus tours of Enlightened Brewing Co. and Twisted Path Distillery. Tickets for Boo’z & Cheez are $45 and Halloween costumes are encouraged.
Over at the Sugar Maple, Left Hand Brewing Co. takes over a few taps with some special brews including Good Juju, Fade to Black and Nitro Wake Up the Dead.
The Harley-Davidson Museum moves its Bike Night inside for a special Skulloween edition. Dress up for the costume contest, plus enjoy live music and food and drink specials at MOTOR.
Yonder Mountain String Band is at Turner Hall at 8 p.m. Tickets are $21.25.
For something a little quieter, the UWM Golda Meir Library plays host to Simon Winchester, the bestselling author of “The Professor and the Madman.” He’ll talk about his most recent book, “Pacific: Silicon Chips and Surfboards, Coral Reefs and Atom Bombs, Brutal Dictators and Fading Empires.”
