On Saturday, October 2, 2021, Debora Taylor (center), her family and the Milwaukee County Parks system honored the life of the late Guy W. Taylor. Guy was the highest ranking African American in the Milwaukee County Parks system where he retired and helped pave the way for many others. To honor his life and accomplishments his family and the Milwaukee County Parks held a special tree planting and dedication service at McGovern Park’s Smith Park Pavilion, 5462 N. 33rd Street. In attendance were his family members and local dignitaries including Milwaukee County Parks Director Guy Smith (far right) and State Senator Lena Taylor who presented the family with special proclamations.
