Yoga for Wellness at Wehr – Session III
Mon., Sept. 12th, 6-7pm, at Wehr Nature Center: Join Yoga instructor, Katy Martens for a series of outdoor yoga surrounded by the beautiful sights and sounds of Wehr Nature Center. You will be guided through a series of yoga postures, relaxation exercises, and stress reduction techniques. No prior yoga experience is required. Session III: Monday Evenings, Sept. 12, 19, & 26.

“Parks with Purpose” Community Workshops

Poetry in the Park – Final Event of the Season
Tues., Sept. 13th, 6:30-8:00pm, in Juneau Park (near the Solomon Juneau statue): Come to Juneau Park Friends final Poetry in the Park event of the year, in which we invite Br!nk and Renaissance Theaterworks to take over! Juneau Park Friends, in partnership with Milwaukee County Parks, present “Before Evening Comes,” a play about hope in the face of overwhelming despair. Actors will be giving a staged reading of Philana Omorotionmwan’s play, followed by a guided talk-back between the playwright and the audience.

FBBG Garden Walks: Identifying Invasive Plants

All walks are expert-led and a fun new topic is covered each week. Traveling Beer Garden 5K Run in Whitnall Park – Final Run for the Season!

Wed., Sept. 14th, 5:00pm, at the Root River Parkway Traveling Beer Garden: Wisconsin’s ONLY traveling beer garden 5K run series.  A great race in Milwaukee County Parks finishing at the Parks Traveling Beer Garden.  All runners will receive a custom Beer Garden 5K shirt and a free pint full of Sprecher beer or Sprecher root beer.



Nite-Glow Golf – Final Round for the Season!

Garden Walk: Boerner By Moonlight

Fri., Sept. 16th , 6-7:30 pm, at Boerner Botanical Gardens: Special  End of the Season Family Garden Walk! Grab your flashlight and let’s explore Boerner by moonlight! Families will be guided around Boerner for this special nighttime walk. You’ll get to discover what nocturnal creatures come out at night in the Gardens! Refreshments will be provided after the walk.



Fireside Friday: Full Moon Hike – Register by Wednesday, September 14th

Fri., Sept. 16th , 7-9pm, at Wehr Nature Center: The beacon of the night lights up the darkness, but how much do you really know about the moon? Explore moon myths and discover what really goes on during the full moon. Do crazy things really happen on the full moon? We’ll see for ourselves during a 1-hour walk under the “Hunter’s Moon”. Recommended for Ages 5 and older. Registration is recommended by Wednesday, September 14th.
