Thanksgiving season is here in the USA. Many people are making plans to visit family in other cities. Supermarkets are stocking up on turkeys and hams for consumption by hungry customers. Even if you do not celebrate Thanksgiving, use the time off work/ school to be thankful for the life you have.
Many people overlook what they do have in order to complain and become angry over what they don’t have. It is easy to look at another person’s progress in life and compare it to yours. In many instances this type of action leads to either misery or a false sense of grandeur. If you are looking at the rich part of society and you are not a part of that element, misery and complaint are going to be your diet. On the other hand, if you compare yourself to people who are noticeably on a lower economic level than you, a sense of success and achievement will be your thought. Both are an illusion that inevitably create mental health issues. This can be avoided by being thankful for what you do have and using what you have to move forward. Enjoy that Ford car. Use the Ford to get you to work, and other opportunities to advance. It may get you the Bentley coupe you want.
Being thankful for what you have does not mean you are settling for the way your life is going at this time. Being thankful for how your situation is at this time allows you to mentally relax and envision greater achievement. No matter what state of life you are in at this time, it can be changed. You are the only person who can change your life. Find something positive in your life. Use this as a spring board to free yourself from misery and self-pity. Look around at your environment. Look at the people you interact with on a daily basis. There are elements of these factors that are positive and you can build on. The people factor may be the one factor where you find it hard to find a positive aspect. If this is the case, separate yourself and find new people to interact with. The only person you need to be looking out for is yourself. The only way you can look out for yourself is to find positive aspects in your life. Use these aspects as a catalyst to place yourself into the life you wish to live.
There are ways to be thankful for what you have and create the life you want. One way is to not get caught up in other people’s issues. Many people create misery for themselves by adopting other people’s problems. This is a form of mental suicide. You are killing your own mind and wasting valuable thought power focusing on someone else’s issues. The way some people in the USA grasp onto issues that the so-called rich and famous have are mind-boggling. You will never find things in your life to be thankful for as long as you are living, thinking, gossiping about other people. In many cases this act of being nosy makes you cast a dim light on what you have, especially if you are focusing on rich people and are not rich. Use the issues of others as a way to embrace who you are and be thankful that you are ignoring their issues from this point on. This act of self preservation can lead to great gains and a healthy mind.
The wonderful month of November is coming to an end. Scorpio has been celebrated. The world is a wonderful place with much adventure and life. Look at your life and find some aspect to be thankful for. Start this practice and continue throughout the year. Watch how your life transforms into a state of harmony, which will enable you to grow in all aspects of living.
