After 42 years of community work, MacArthur (Mac) Weddle celebrates retirement

On Sunday, June 23, 2019, Northcott Neighborhood House and Double B Entertainment presented, “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye,” a celebration in honor of community leader MacArthur (Mac) Weddle’s (right) retirement. The retirement celebration, which also served as a fundraiser for the Northcott Neighborhood House, was held at the Tripoli Shrine Center, 3000 W. Wisconsin Ave., and featured R&B vocal group Ray, Goodman & Brown, originally The Moments, as the evenings entertainment.

“Mac” Weddle has served as the Executive Director of Northcott Neighborhood House for the past 19 years. However, for the past 42 years he has served in a variety of administrative position sat Northcott. He has also worked over the years with many other community organizations, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee,African World Festival, Wisconsin Housing Economic Development Authority(WHEDA), Community Workforce Partnership and the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation. He has also served as president of Milwaukee’s Juneteenth Day celebration. Many in the community turned out to praise Mac for his work, with proclamations and honors including Congresswoman Gwen Moore(left).
