On Friday, May 17, 2025, The Community Development Alliance (CDA), the collaborative responsible for implementing Milwaukee’s Collective Affordable Housing Strategic Plan to advance racial equity by providing a quality, affordable home for every Milwaukeean, hosted its tours of five model homes across Milwaukee. This is the second annual tour of homes to help inform leaders, allies and potential partners of efforts currently underway and additional work to ensure safe, quality and affordable housing is a reality for all Milwaukeeans, regardless of race.

Homebuilders led tours for community, business and elected leaders of five new homes in Milwaukee’s Thurston Woods, Midtown, Muskego Way, Harambee and Washington Park neighborhoods. These homes represent the types of affordable, entry- level homes CDA and its partners are building for homeowners of color across the city. The tour also stopped at the historic Garden Homes, the first municipally sponsored public housing cooperative in the U.S. Among the presenting homebuilders were Michael Emem, CEO of Emem Group who showed off a new construction duplex home at 2532 W. Garfield Avenue in Midtown.
