Africans on the Move celebrates ’33rd Annual GarveyFest’

August 4, 2022

Marcus Garvey

All are invited to enjoy and to participate in the 33rd GarveyFest Celebration. This year our GarveyFest celebration will be presented both virtually and in-person.

The Celebration is being sponsored by Africans on the Move and the Pan-African Revolutionary Socialist Party. This year’s focus is “The African World is on Fire!”

It is free and open to the public.

Join us on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 2 p.m. Central Daylight Time on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/panafricansocialist/ for our virtual GarveyFest, during which past and present Watoto Uhuru Shule (Children’s Freedom School) students as well as current members and supporters of the Pan-African Revolutionary Socialist Party will discuss the fire raging throughout the African world – from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to Brazil to the United States.

Also, join us in person on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 1 to 5 p.m. (Central Daylight Time) on the grounds of the Wisconsin African American Women’s Center, 3020 W. Vliet Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Free health screening (insurance cards are required), free food, free slightly worn clothes and shoes, free haircuts, and free school supplies and books for children, and more will be available.

Also, invited organizations/ institutions such as Running Rebels, N’Cobra, Go Girl!, 414 Life, Youth Stand Up MKE, Heal the Hood, the Wisconsin African American Women’s Center, Standard of Excellence and more will discuss the ways in which they are putting out the fire that is raging throughout the African American community here in Milwaukee and beyond.

Remember, all events are free and open to the public!
