On Saturday, August 24, 2024, Word of Hope Ministries (WOHM) hosted a “Walk of Hope” Community Day on the Holy Cathedral Campus, 2677 N. 40th St. Founder and President Bishop C.H. McClelland and Vice President and first lady Prentiss McClelland reinstated this community event after a several years hiatus, due to the pandemic. WOHM has provided social services for more than 28 years to 30,000+ individuals and families.
There were about 150 people in attendance and about 75 book bags filled with supplies were given to the children. There were activities such as multiple raffle giveaways, face printing, free hair braiding by RoLanda’s Creation Hair Braiding, blood pressure, cardiovascular and fatty liver screenings provided by Progressive Health Center and Medical College of Wisconsin doctors, horseback riding provided by Cowboys’ Events with the Milwaukee Fire Department giving tours of their fire trucks, for a fun-filled day for our community, children and families.
