We Care Crew hosts ‘Breakfast with Santa’ at King Center

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the We Care Crew hosted its annual “Breakfast with Santa” at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Community Center, 1531 W. Vliet St. More than 250 children and their families played games, made craft projects, and best of all, picked out two gifts with help from members of the Milwaukee County Sheriffs (MCSO) and Milwaukee Police Department (MPD). The We Care Crew, which consists of several community partners including, Milwaukee County’s Office of Equity, Milwaukee County Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), Milwaukee County Parks, MCSO, MPD, City of Milwaukee Health Department & Office of Community Wellness and Safety, 414Life, Safe & Sound and others.

The event was created by King Center director Dee McCollum, to honor the memory of her late son, Army Staff Sergeant Krasean L. Clayborn, whose favorite holiday was Christmas because of the joy it brings children.
