Vice President Kamala Harris visited Milwaukee Thursday, August 3, 2023 marking her first stop in Wisconsin, a key battleground state, ahead of the 2024 election.
Harris toured the Sanmina Corporation’s Kenosha County facility in Pleasant Prairie, where the telecommunications company Nokia has announced plans to manufacture new broadband electronic products.
In Milwaukee Vice President Harris made an appearance at The North Point Lighthouse where she presented an inspiring speech and encouragement to “Get Out the VOTE” in Wisconsin. In attendance were Congresswoman Gwen Moore(D-WI, 4th), US Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Wisconsin State Senator Lena Taylor, Mayor Cavalier Johnson, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson, as well as many of Vice President Harris’ fellow sorors from the local Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority chapter.
