
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (TLOD) Milwaukee Chapter hosted the Area III North Cluster for the 61st Founders’ Day in Milwaukee at the Four Points by Sheraton Airport hotel. The Milwaukee Chapter was the host chapter for the first time since 2017. More than 200 members joined in the recognition of the organization’s founding in Tyler, TX on September 8, 1964, by 8 women. Today, there are 125 chapters with more than 3,500 members across the county.

As part of the luncheon, prospective members from the Chicago Chapters and the Milwaukee Chapter were inducted into Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. before the Founders’ Day Luncheon, which was chaired by Yolanda S. Wilson of Milwaukee Chapter, who presided over the luncheon. Highlights of the event included Erica Harris Day Milwaukee chapter 1st vice president, reading a proclamation by Milwaukee’s Mayor Cavalier Johnson. The re-dedication to TLOD was presided over by National Area III Director Vynessa Alexander. The luncheon keynote speaker was Cherise Easley of Milwaukee, WI. Easley is a past National President Top Teens of America as well as the current National Senior Citizens chair.
TLOD is a non-profit, educational, humanitarian organization. The goals are dedication in service to adults, youth, and their communities. Their motto is “Serving Youth and Adults.” The National President and CEO of Top Ladies of Distinction is Eddie Lee Marsh. Vynessa Alexander is the National Area III Director. The president and vice president of the Milwaukee chapter of TLOD is Dara Atandare. Ambassador Lynda Garrison-Carlton is the TLOD Area III representative of the Franchell Boswell Educational Foundation. Ambassador Sheila Parrish represents the Milwaukee Chapter on this committee. TLOD has about 3,500 teens nationally.
