On Sunday, October 23, 2016, The Top Ladies of Distinction (TLOD) hosted their
Annual Induction Luncheon for 2016. The event took place at the Hilton Garden Inn,
11600 West Park Place. The induction luncheon is held by the current members to
welcome the new members to the organization. This year’s new members include
(from left) LaRissa Anthony, Erica Harris-Day, Barbara M. Henry, Sandra J. Hubbard,
Brigitte Hyler-Richerson, Alexis C. Stanley, Danette Stone-Bell and Yolanda
S. Wilson. TLOD has a rich history of service and advocacy. Since 1964, TLOD has
been serving “youth and adults” through exemplary programming under five thrusts:
Status of Women (SOW), Senior Citizens, Community Beautification, Community
Partnerships and Top Teens of America (TTA). TLOD advocates for the United Negro
College Fund (UNCF), Sickle Cell Disease Association of America (SCDAA),
NAACP, and are affiliates of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), and
the Black Women’s Agenda (BWA). National Area III Director Mary Leach Davis
(center) of East St. Louis, Illinois was the presiding officer of the induction ceremony.
