On Saturday, March 26, 2022, St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care hosted its “3rd Annual Indba African Ball,” at its Bucyrus Campus, 2450 West North Ave. The ball is a fundraiser for the Indaba band shell, a popular entertainment venue located on the Buycyrus Campus grounds and hosts various free concerts and events during the summer. The ball kicked off Black History Month cerebrations for the center and was held in St. Ann Center’s beautiful two-story atrium, showcasing African- inspired décor.
Featured entertainers included Christopher’s Project and the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Steel Pan Ensemble. The event also featured African and Caribbean-flavored hors d’oeuvres by Events by Day, guests in African or Afrocentric attire, an impromptu fashion show and photo booth, and vendors selling African clothing, jewelery and decorative items. In addition, outstanding community leaders were honored in the Hall of History Makers.
