Annie Katheryne Jones was born December 14, 1948 and reared in Jackson, TN by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Prince Edward “Jack” and Abbie Lee Jones. Annie departed this earthly life on April 19, 2023 in Milwaukee, WI. After graduating from Lane College, Annie relocated to Milwaukee where she was a resident for more than 50 years. Annie is a retired Milwaukee Public Schools teacher and administrator with nearly 35 years of dedication to education. Prior to retirement, she served as Assistant Principal of the IB Program at Rufus King High School. Annie was also an active member of the Milwaukee chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Annie leaves behind three sisters: Pearlie Matthews of Jackson, TN, Laura Turner of Matteson, IL and Judy (Jay B.) Mercer of Nashville, TN; three brothers: Joe Jones of Forest Hills, NY, Clifford Jones, Sr. of Memphis, TN and Ed “Too Tall” Jones of Farmers Branch, TX; and was preceded in death by a beloved sister, Alice Jones of Memphis, TN. She also treasures several nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends from all walks of life.
