A powerful new chapter began on Thursday, May 29, 2025, as New Horizon Center, Inc., and Catherine Early Childhood Development Center celebrated their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at 2709 N. 32nd St., located within The Community Within the Corridor development.

The event brought together city and county leaders, community members, and supporters for an inspiring and joyous occasion. Among the honored guests were Mayor Cavalier Johnson, 15th District Alderman Russell Stamper II, County Executive David Crowley’s representative Kyle Ashley, and Que El-Amin, President of Scott Crawford, Inc., who were all present to show their support for the revitalized mission of early childhood education and social services in Milwaukee’s central city.

The celebration included a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a short program featuring remarks from founder Saleem El-Amin, current CEO Rafi Hasan II and comments by the Mayor, Alderman, and other distinguished guests. Attendees were then invited to enjoy refreshments, take guided tours of the new facility, and learn more about the services offered.
The event ended with a call for new daycare enrollments and foster care parent recruitment.
