On Friday, June 20, 2025, Gee’s Clippers, located on historic King Drive in Milwaukee, celebrated its 30th anniversary with a block party at the shop on 2200 N. MLK, Jr., Dr., emphasizing its role in the community through wellness clinics and mentorship initiatives. The event included food, music and live entertainment for the whole community. Also on hand were many civic and community leaders who praised Gee’s Clippers’ owner, Gaulien Smith, for the initiatives that he has spearheaded though his barbershop, including “Real Men Real Talk” which helps young and older men dealing with life issues, the community health clinic, and their anti-violence work with youth though the “Hello Summer” program and Camp Rise.

“They’re more than a barbershop, they’re part of the fabric of the community. They do so many things, whether it’s health care or haircuts, they have the real talk for men,” said Milwaukee County Sheriff Denita Ball.

“Gee’s Clippers has continuously given back, bringing resources to the community and trying to make this world a little better than we found it,” Smith said.
