Gee’s Clippers and Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield launch free clinic to support men’s health in Milwaukee

On Tuesday, February 25, 2020, Gee’s Clippers and Anthem Blue Cross BlueShield joined with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Gee’s Clippers owner Gaulien “Gee” Smith (at podium) for the grand-opening of Gee’s Milwaukee Wellness Clinic, located in Gee’s Clippers, 2220 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
The clinic will be available to customers every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clinic will provide on site health services such as blood glucose testing, blood pressure screenings, flu shots, BMI check for weight, HIV/STI testing, cholesterol screening, memory screening, hearing screening, vision screening, as well as information on housing, job opportunities and training, healthy diets, GED or other educational resources, support for mental and emotional health, and health insurance or healthcare.
The Gee’s Milwaukee Wellness Clinic aims to help close the city’s health care disparities gap by addressing social drivers of health and connecting people to needed services and resources–starting right from their barber’s chair.
