Fiserv Forum to host two rounds of Big Dance
The madness in March is hitting Milwaukee.
Fiserv Forum, home of the Milwaukee Bucks, will host two rounds of the NCAA basketball tournament this weekend.
“Milwaukee’s always been a great host, but since Fiserv Forum has opened, it’s become a whole new level of experience with the student athletes of NCAA,” said Sports Milwaukee Director Marissa Werner.
Werner said they’re expecting about 19,000 people in Milwaukee this weekend with some visitors buying tickets for both days, Friday and Sunday.
“It is going to be a great, great weekend for our whole area; yes, we’re very excited,” said Werner.
The economic impact is estimated at around $3.4-million.
Wisconsin is also hosting other big sporting events this year:
• The U.S. Women’s Open Golf Championship in May at Erin Hills
• The NFL Draft in April at Lambeau Field
• IndyCar in April at The Milwaukee Mile
“This is the year of sport for Milwaukee and Wisconsin, overall,” said Werner.
