Together, Milwaukee Health Services, Inc. (MHSI) and Molina Healthcare will host a Luau Lullaby Community Baby Shower on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in recognition of Mother’s Day. The event will take place at the MLK Heritage Health Center location at 2555 N. MLK Drive from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
MHSI is a Federally Qualified Health Center working to reduce infant mortality rates in the central city and serves patients and their families by promoting education and participating in supportive services that focus on reducing health disparities.
Participants will have the opportunity to receive immunizations; and lead, mammogram, dental, cervical cancer and other health screenings. Educational sessions will be available on safe sleep, infant mortality, fatherhood involvement, car seat installation, Vroom, nutrition and breast feeding. Exhibitors representing community-based health and social services agencies will be attending the event. MHSI’s physicians, clinicians and benefit coordinator will be on hand to answer health and insurance related questions.
Special guests will include Black Health Coalition of Wisconsin President Dr. Patricia McManus, comedian Kelly Kellz, singer Mr. Jackie Caldwell, DJ Cheerio and Jammin 98.3 Radio Personality Andrea Williams.
The community baby shower has attracted community support through monetary donations, as well as baby clothes and larger items that will be raffled at the end of the event for those moms and dads attending. Healthy foods and beverages will be served at the event.

MHSI provides quality healthcare services through two sites; the Martin Luther King, Jr. Heritage Health Center at 2555 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and Isaac Coggs Heritage Health Center at 8200 W. Silver Spring Drive.
