MATC graduates more than 740 students at winter commencement

On Sunday, December 10, 2023, Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) hosted its 2023 Winter Commencement at Fiserv Forum downtown. More than 740 students earned associate degrees, technical diplomas, apprenticeships and adult high school diplomas. In addition, 12 candidates for graduation who have served in the U.S. military wore red, white and blue cords from the college. MATC’s Outstanding Technical Diploma Graduate Chardaye Hartz delivered the student welcome. Hartz made the career decision to enter the medical profession after suffering a series of seizures and having multiple brain surgeries. The Outstanding Associate Degree Graduate and student speaker was Hasnah Hussin, a former refugee who is received her Human Service Associate degree. Hussin, who speaks seven languages started working with refugee groups when she was a teenager in Malaysia before moving to Wisconsin. Congratulation to all the MATC graduates.
