
On Monday, January 20, 2025, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day was celebrated at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Community Center which held its annual event for the 49th year. There were songs, drums by Drums Up & Guns Down, and skits that were preformed by Voice of the Fatherless Child.

Through the arts and acts of service, people in Milwaukee and the MLK Center are keeping King’s legacy alive. “To make changes in our world, to make our country come together, we have to start with us,” said MLK Center Director Dee McCollum. “I believe a change is going to come, we are that change. It was a day when King’s powerful message was heard, with the goal of bring together people of all walks of life together. Change is going to come.
