Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (back row center), religious leaders and members of faith-based organizations participated in the 7th Annual Denim Day in the City of Milwaukee on April 25, 2018 during a press conference at Pathfinders.

The month of April was Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Denim Day Milwaukee seeks to raise awareness about misconceptions concerning sexual assault. Participants included Bishop Walter Harvey, Parklawn Assembly of God; Reggie Moore, Milwaukee Office of Violence Prevention; Sharain Horn, Aurora Healthcare; Annika Leonard, Priceless Incite; Samantha Collier, Team Teal 365; Britny Helmrich, Youth Perspective; and Dawn Helmrich, United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County.

The month-long event included outreach training of youth ambassadors to help canvas local neighborhoods with informational material on Denim Day Milwaukee.
