On Friday, December 7, 2018, Bethel Baptist Church honored Maestro Douane McDowell for his 35-plus years of musical service to Bethel Baptist Church in a special celebration entitled, “The Sound of Music,” at 2030 W. North Ave. The event featured choirs and performers from all over Milwaukee who came to honor the musical talents of Mr. McDowell. Recording artist and Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church Rodney Cunningham was the keynote speaker. Mr. McDowell was awarded with a trophy and flowers from the church for his work and accomplishments (inset).
