Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist Church (GGMBC), 2432 North Teutonia Avenue, Milwaukee, WI will hold its “Victorious Women Walking in Health” summit from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27. The FREE event will offer participants a choice of life changing workshops, as well as a continental breakfast and heart-healthy lunch. The sessions will be led by some of the city’s top Christian wellness educators and will provide information to women and men on how to live a healthier lifestyle. Session titles include—Hot Topics in Nutrition: Myths vs. the Facts; Optimizing Physical Strength, Flexibility and Endurance (exercise demonstration); and Power to End Stroke. The special keynote speaker for the summit will be breast cancer survivor Phyllis Holder, RN, MSN. She is the founder of Sisters 4 Cure and the Sister’s Network, Milwaukee Chapter. The inspirational and powerful speaker is a member of the Parklawn Assembly of God Church. Participants will be able to visit the Milwaukee Health Department’s health services van and resource tables staffed by vendors and organizations sharing wellness and beauty information. They will also have the opportunity to take advantage of a private clinical breast screening provided by Nurses Affecting Change.
