
Two Milwaukee high school graduates are recipients of the 2021 WEASSP Paul T. Spraggins, Jr. Scholarship.
Scholarship award recipient Jalen Reed is a 2021 graduate from Rufus King High School and will attend Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota in the fall of 2021. Breigeneve Kankonde is a 2021 graduate from Pulaski High School and will attend the University of Wisconsin- Parkside in the fall of 2021.

The Wisconsin Education of Student Support Programs Scholarship committee is honored to recognize Jalen Reed and Breigeneve Kankonde with the WEASSP Paul T. Spraggins Scholarship Award and extends heartfelt and sincere congratulations to them for accomplishing their academic goals and objectives. Thanks and appreciation is also extended to those who supported and inspired them throughout their K-12 educational journey. A bright future awaits Breigeneve Kankonde and Jalen Reed.
Founded in 2002, WEASSP Paul T. Spraggins Scholarship opportunity is offered to high school students enrolled in Wisconsin urban schools districts: Beloit, Kenosha, Milwaukee and Racine. Multiple factors are considered when evaluating scholarship applications, including grade point average, school attendance, volunteer service, autobiographical essay describing meaningful achievements and how the achievements relate to future goals, personal references and enrollment in pre-college programs.
