THE BUZZ: With what appears to be a prime balance of action and storytelling, it looks like Diana of Themyscira will make things right in the world of DC Comics movies and women superheroes in general.

THE BUZZ: 20th Century Fox, which has made a quiet fortune on its Wimpy Kid movies, will undoubtedly apply some of the same formula to its plans for the elementary-school universe created by Dav Pilkey. For CU die-hards: There’re no plans for a Dog-Man spin-off at the moment.

THE BUZZ: Comedian Demetri Martin resurfaces with a Garden State-ish melancholy comedy about the grieving process that he wrote, directed, and stars in – his signature illustrations are also on display.

THE BUZZ: Don’t be surprised if this Latino remake of 3 Idiots notches a top 10 position during its first weekend in US release.

THE BUZZ: This WWII thriller has a whiff of familiarity, and that might be why there isn’t as much buzz as there usually is for an Avi Nesher film.

THE BUZZ: Zoe Lister-Jones steps up to the mic as the director, writer, and co-star of this Sundance hit that puts white people problems to music with a backbeat courtesy of Fred Armisen. We have no reservations about sitting through 90 minutes of Lister-Jones sparring in harmony with former “Mindy Project” standout, Adam Pally.

THE BUZZ: Emile Hirsch continues to rebuild his career after his Sundance troubles; here, he follows up the cult hit The Autopsy of Jane Doe with a drama that puts him and Zoë Kravitz on a collision course as they look to fight their way out of a small town chock full of violent characters. Similar to Autopsy, the movie’s ending is said to supply a shock or two.
