The Buzz: Ellen DeGeneres is back as the lovable but forgetful Dory, and I am excited for her underwater adventure. My kids probably made me watch Finding Nemo about a million times. Each time the title credits started, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes: “Again?!” But the more I watched, the more I found myself understanding the moral of caring for those closest to you. While it seems we have lost Dory this time around, I have a feeling we are going to learn a lot more about the true nature of family along the way. – Lance

The Buzz: Overlooking the sophomoric marketing slogans, we think this action-comedy high-school reunion might become a runaway hit; the first pairing of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart feels fresh in a season where audiences have shunned sequels to a certain degree.

Swiss Army Man (2016) Poster

The Buzz: Yes, the Sundance VIPs either hated or loved this. But remember that that world of people are seeing movies for free and they’re running on little sleep and free booze. So, why not make your own decision about this unconventional movie that stars Paul Dano, who never seems to make a horrible choice with his roles? And who doesn’t want to hitch a ride on Daniel Radcliffe? – Arno

Tickled (2016) Poster

Tickled (2016) – [Limited]

Certificate R 92 min   –   Documentary

Metascore: 78/100 (12 reviews)
Journalist David Farrier stumbles upon a mysterious tickling competition online. As he delves deeper he comes up against fierce resistance, but that doesnt stop him getting to the bottom of a story stranger than fiction.
Directors:

David Farrier | Dylan Reeve

Stars:

David Farrier, Dylan Reeve, David Starr, Hal Karp

Watch Trailer Add to Watchlist

The Buzz: What seems to be at the core of this documentary is some sort of entity that lures and traps young men in a quasi-sexual internet-based peepshow, and the expertly produced trailer had us conflicted as to whether we should spoil the ending by reading reviews of the doc or waiting until we could see the entire story unfurl for ourselves. (We are opting for the latter but truly on edge to learn of this subject’s mysteries.)

Raiders!: The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made (2015) Poster

Raiders!: The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made (2015) – [Limited]

106 min   –   Documentary | Adventure | Biography | Comedy | Drama |Music

Jeremy Coon | Tim Skousen

Stars:

Chris Strompolos, Eric Zala, Jayson Lamb, Ernest Cline

Watch Trailer Add to Watchlist

The Buzz: As you can imagine, this documentary hits upon a number of themes that will resonate with aging movie fans like us. More than a series of recollections about making a shot-for-shot fan film, Raiders! is at its best when it reveals the other challenges life presented to our heroes along their way to adulthood.

The Last King (2016) Poster

Watch Trailer Add to Watchlist

The Buzz: If you like the idea of a much easier to follow version of “Game of Thrones” set in 13th Century Norway and featuring warriors on skis, then this is the import action movie for you. Yes, that’s “GOT”‘s breakout ginger Kristofer Hivju in the starring role.

Clown (2014) Poster

Clown (2014) – [Limited]

Certificate R 100 min   –   Drama | Fantasy |Horror

A loving father finds a clown suit for his son’s birthday party, only to realize that it is not a suit at all.
Director:

Jon Watts

Stars:

Andy Powers, Laura Allen, Peter Stormare, Christian Distefano

Watch Trailer Add to Watchlist

The Buzz: This Eli Roth-backed creeper is the directorial debut of Jon Watts, who is currently putting a teen-friendly face on Spider-Man. Watts made a fake trailer for the movie, which impressed Roth so much that he came aboard the real project as a producer.
