On Friday, September 27, 2024, Thanasis Antetokounmpo along with Gaulien “Gee” Smith, threw out two of the ceremonial first pitches at Friday’s Brewers game. Thanasis had never thrown a baseball before but the former Milwaukee Bucks forward and older brother of Giannis, finally got his first opportunity. And it came before thousands of people at American Family Field. Thanasis said, “No pressure.” Brewers left fielder Christian Yelich and Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon, who has thrown out the first pitch at two Brewers games, both offered some words of wisdom for Antetokounmpo. “Just make sure you get it there,” said Dillon, a previous guest on Antetokounmpo’s podcast, Thanalysis. “Don’t have it go short. If you overthrow it, that’s fine. But just get it there or past it.”

“Gee” Smith, founder and owner of Gee’s Clippers Barber Shop and Gee’s MKE Wellness Clinic, himself is no stranger to throwing out first pitches said, “I had the honor of throwing out the first pitch for today’s game for the 2nd time in my life,” he said. “This is something I don’t take lightly or for granted. I look at it as a blessing when people want to honor me for the work I feel I’m supposed to do. Thank you Dr. Carol Ritter for choosing me to throw out the first pitch for the work we do in my health clinic. To experience this with my son is priceless.” Gee’s MKE Wellness Clinic is located inside Gee’s Clippers at 2200 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive, and is open Fridays 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
