China Lights: Treasures of China will have 95% new lantern displays featuring cultural gems. The handmade displays range from three-feet to three-stories high. The festival will also include an expanded interactive exhibit area, two stages for Asian folk-culture performances, a marketplace, two dining areas and vendors offering a variety of Asian and Western menu options.

5 Points Art Gallery & Studios extends its visual representation of Chicago artists from its “This Is America” group exhibition to “Discarded”, the two-person showcase of conceptual found-object assemblages by Marvin Tate and Spencer Hutchinson, opening September 6, 2019. Friday, September 6, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. (CST), “Discarded” demonstrates the continual lifecycle of objects in the world as two Chicago- based artists, Marvin Tate and Spencer Hutchinson, execute masterful up-cycled assemblages from the tossed, lost, and gentrified rubbish saturating Chicago’s urban landscape.
